How to Unlock Where Sky is Clear and Glory Shines: Trial Grounds
Complete Main Quest Chapter 2 Act 5
To unlock Where Sky is Clear and Glory Shines: Guardian Tower, you must first complete the Main Quest, Shadow of Glory.
The exploration quest becomes available when you approach Secret Entrance cave, found in the Border Mountains.
Recommended to Complete Guardian Tower
It is also highly recommended for players to complete the quest of the same name in the Guardian Tower. Much of the context for Trial Grounds seems to happen after completing Guardian Tower.
This Exploration Quest is found north of Septimont, in Mournfall Canyon.

Use Hero's Slash to break the entrance seal
Head towards the Secret Entrance that can be found in Border Mountains. The entrance is sealed with three crystals; destroy them away with the Hero's Slash ability from Hero's Legacy with a diagonal slash..
Observe the phantoms of the past
Once inside the Secret Entrance, continue deeper into the cavern. Eventually, you will come across some phantoms of the past. Interact with them to learn more about the Secret Entrance.
Read the nearby pages
As you continue downward, some anomalies will suddenly disappear. To continue, read some documents that can be found laying on top of boxes.
Draw the Sword of Trial
Continue deeper east, and you will encounter a glowing sword embedded into the ground. Draw it out to reveal the path forward.
Explore the Ashen Dragon's crypt
Continue into the Ashen Dragon's crypt that was revealed after drawing the sword earlier. However, things will begin to disintegrate around you. Get out of there fast by moving forward, and reacting to Quick-Time Events as they appear.
Use Flight to travel across the canyon
The ground below will disappear at some point after a jump, in which it will force you to fly a predetermined path. A Scourgewing will lead you towards the next destination.
Reach the top of the waterfall
Once you reach the end of the canyon, more Quick-Time Events will continue to prompt you forward. Make sure to hit them on time, as its path will lead you to the top of a waterfall.
Insert the sword into the shattered sword pedestal
At the end of the gauntlet of Quick-Time Effects, players will come across a shattered, glowing pedestal overlooking a trapped Scourgewing. Insert the Sword of Trial you pulled earlier into the pedestal.
Check the item in front of the Scourgewing
After returning the Sword of Trial to its rightful location, interact with the glowing item that can be found right in front of the Scourgewing. It reveals a Phantom that retells the tale of someone trying to save the same Scourgewing.
Investigate nearby frequencies and charge your slash
Four frequencies are now sensed around the area, are essential to help save the Scourgewing from its binds. Collect them all before proceeding.
Helmet Frequency Location
The first item to collect is the frequency of the Helmet. It can be found floating on a statue's palm at the northeast section of the room.
Spear Frequency Location
The second item to collect is the frequency of the Spear. It is found being held by a crouching statue, standing upright for support at the south side of the room.
Longsword Frequency Location
The third item to collect is the frequency of the Longsword. It is sheathed into the ground while being held by the statue, on the northwest part of the room.
Page Frequency Location
The final frequency to collect is the frequency of the Pages. Found at a pillar right beside the Scourgewing, it details the end of the journey for a Gladiator named Levis.
Cut the strange threads binding the Scourgewing
The first three frequencies collected are needed to upgrade the ability of the Hero's Legacy Echo. This now grants the ability Hero's Rend II, which can shatter all crystals within the threads after holding the button for some time.
If you do the prompt correct, the camera should be continuously panning back to reveal more of the area.
Use the Wingray to reach higher ground
After freeing the Scourgewing, a familiar lady will call for you after a path is revealed above. A Wingray will appear to help get you out of the cave, but make sure to collect the Treasure Chest that appears!
Talk to the girl
The girl you end up talking to is none other than Tulia, the woman we helped ascend the Guardian Tower in Mournfall Canyon.
